Earthquakes, Internet Anointing
“All these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. … And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places” (Matt. 24:6–7, NKJV). “All these things are the beginning of birth pains” (Matt. 24:8, NET).”
Saturday night, we were rocked by an earthquake. Earthquakes are quite common in Japan—they usually build slowly, then the house shakes briefly and it’s over. This one came quickly and shook the house hard. Instead of dying down, it got stronger. I could hear the ceiling crack. We cried out to the Lord and it stopped. Whew. Thank you, Lord!
The damage? Yes, there was a sizeable crack in our ceiling. Some furniture toppled over and some glassware broke, but everything else was fine. We still had electricity and water. The 7.1 scale earthquake was the second-most powerful we’ve experienced in our forty-six years in Japan, but far less than the 9.1 Great East Japan Earthquake of March 3, 2011. Again, thank you, Lord, for your protection.
A few thoughts are as follows:
1. God can use earthquakes to get our attention. As prophetic people are pointing out, there has also been an inordinate increase in recent earthquakes in places including the Loyalty Islands (off Australia), Pakistan, and North America. I grew up in Alberta, Canada, which never has earthquakes. Well, one occurred last week. When Jesus was talking about the end times, He said, “And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places” (Matt. 24:7) These things snap people out of a “life-as-usual” mindset and cause them to think about the future.
2. Earthquakes are a sign. “All these things are the beginning of birth pains” (Matt. 24:8, NET). God wants us to know He is birthing something new. We can say with certainty that we are entering into the end-times harvest. God’s people—His ekklesia—are rising up and carrying His name, His message, His love, and His healing and miracles everywhere. I believe we will see an unprecedented turning to the Lord in every nation and among every people group. I believe we are beginning to see this in Japan.
3. It does not mean the “end” has come. Jesus said, “All these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet” (24:6). There is much the Lord still wants to do, and much He has for each of us to accomplish. It is not a time to be told, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven?” (Acts 1:11). Rather, we are to press in to all the Lord has for us.
4. God is birthing new things for us to do. I feel we should all be asking the Lord, “What are the new things you have for me to do?” For myself, I know that I have to do more internet broadcasting. I also want to launch more ekklesia into the harvest, and activate even more into prophetic gifts as well as healing and miracles.
5. Don’t accept that earthquakes have to be damaging. While earthquakes and pestilences (like COVID-19) can seem so unstoppable, it doesn’t mean that we have to suffer or be defeated. Jesus knew that Satan had the right to—and would—test Peter, but Jesus prayed and Peter came through the test. Jesus said, “Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”(Luke 22:30–31).
So be sure to be strong in prayer and faith. Your prayer releases God’s grace and strength.

地震 ー インターネット油注ぎ
「民族は民族に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がり、方々にききんと地震が起こります。しかし、そのようなことはみな、生みの苦しみの始めなのです。」）マタイの福音書２４章７～８節
土曜日の夜、眠りにつく前に大きな地震で家が揺さぶられました。日本では地震は日常的にあります。通常は小さな揺れから始まり、徐々に家が揺れ、それから大きく揺れます。今回の地震は割と速く大きく揺れました。収まることなく、直ぐに大きく揺れました。天井がピシャリと鳴るのも聞こえました。私たちは主に呼び求めたときに収まりました。主に感謝します。
地震によって私たちの家の天井には大きな割れ目があります。倒れた家具もありますし、食器も何枚か割れました。それ以外のものには被害はありませんでした。電気も、水道もまだ通っています。今回の7.1Mの地震は、私の日本の４６年の生活で体験した２番目に大きい地震です。１０年前の東北大震災の9.1Mの地震には比べものにもなりません。私たちを守ってくださった主に感謝しています。
１）主は地震を通して私たちの注目を集めます。先週から預言の油注ぎが注がれている中で、日本だけではなく、世界中（ローイヤティ諸島（オーストラリアの沖）、パキスタン、アメリカなど）で地震が発生しています。私が育ったアルバータ州カナダでは地震はありません。しかし、先週はアルバータ州でも地震があったそうです。イエスは終わりの時代について話していたときに、こう言いました。「民族は民族に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がり、方々にききんと地震が起こります（マタイ２４章７節）。」そういったことが起こると人々は立ち止まり、深く将来のことを考え始めます。
２）地震はしるしです。「しかし、そのようなことはみな、生みの苦しみの始めなのです（マタイ２４章８節）。」主は新しいものを生み出していることを私たちに教えようとしています。確かに言えることは、私たちは終わりの時代の収穫に入ったことです。神の民、主のエクレシア（教会）が立ち上がり、主の名前、メッセージ、愛、いやしと奇跡をあらゆるところに運んでいきます。私たちは今まで見たことないような世界的な立ち返りを見ると思います。日本では既に見ていると思います。
３）終わりが来たというわけではありません。イエスが言いました、「・・・しかし、終わりが来たのではありません（マタイ２４章６節）。」主が成し遂げたいことはまだいっぱいあります。そして私たちを通して成し遂げたいと願っています。今は、”ガリラヤの人たち。なぜ天を見上げて立っているのですか。（使徒１章１１節）”といわれる時代ではなく、むしろ、主が私たちのために備えてくださったものに押し込む時です。
４）神が私たちの働きを生み出しています。私たちは、主に対しどういった新しい働きを生み出しているのか聞くべきです。私は、個人的に更に多くのネット配信をするように導かれています。私は収穫のために更に多くのエクレシア（教会）を解き放ちたいです。預言的な賜物やいやし、奇跡のアクティベーションも更に多くしていきたいです。
５）地震を破壊的なものとしては考えないでください。地震や疫病（コロナなど）などは避けることもできないし、止めることはできません。しかし、私たちはそのような災害に対し、苦しんだり、敗北する必要はありません。サタンがペテロを試すことをイエスは知っていましたので、イエスはペテロのために祈りました。「シモン、シモン。見なさい。サタンが、あなたがたを麦のようにふるいにかけることを願って聞き届けられました。しかし、わたしは、あなたの信仰がなくならないように、あなたのために祈りました。だからあなたは、立ち直ったら、兄弟たちを力づけてやりなさい（ルカ２２章３１～３２節）。」
祈り、信仰の中に強くありなさい。あなたの祈りこそ、神の恵みと力を解き放ちます。
