If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14).

“Yet Jesus himself frequently withdrew to the wilderness and prayed” (Luke 5:16).

Weekly Update—Summer Edition

I feel this week’s update is especially important. This will be the last update for three weeks (so our staff and workers can get a summer vacation. Our next update will come out on August 25.

This Saturday, July 31, is our third River of Fire conference. John Arnott is the featured speaker. I ask you to please be praying with us. Please pray for smooth operation and a lack of technical issues. The Lord has been speaking very clearly that for this third conference we aren’t to assume anything, and that He wants to do much more than we can think or imagine. So I request your prayer support. (See below for some of the things the Lord has spoken.)*

Without Prayer, No One Will Get Saved—A few days ago, I heard an intriguing testimony about a Christian young man. He had been a drug user and gang leader. Suddenly he got saved. This was followed by his brother and then by most of the other gang members. It led to a revival in their city. Since then, God has continued to use him in preaching and in miracles leading countless others to Christ.

It all started with a group of high school students that felt led to meet and pray together. They decided to pray for the most unlikely—the worst and most hardened people in their city. That gang leader was first on their list. He and others had their names spoken out in prayer to the Lord weekly. It led to his salvation, as well as to the salvation of many. In his testimony, he then made this point: without prayer, no one will get saved/born again.

That short testimony spoke to me strongly. It was a reminder that one of the most important things we can do is pray. A few thoughts on prayer are as follows:

  1. Jesus prayed. “Yet Jesus himself frequently withdrew to the wilderness and prayed” (Luke 5:16).

  2. The apostles prayed. “But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word” (Acts 6:4).

  3. The early Christians prayed. “They were devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42).

  4. We, likewise, must continue to pray. “Be devoted to prayer with thanksgiving” (Col. 4:2).

Why Don’t I Pray More? Here Are Two Solutions

  1. Watch and pray—lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Mark 14:38). The devil doesn’t want us to pray and knows how to distract us, so let’s keep asking the Holy Spirit to help us be alert.

  2. Humble ourselves—I have begun to see this well-known verse in a new light, “If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray” (2 Chron. 7:14). We know the Israelites at this point in history were rebellious and anti-God. But the verse points out the real issue was their pride, and the first step was to humble themselves.

Unfortunately, pride is always at the doorstep, waiting for any and all of us. Perhaps the root of why we can’t find time to pray, or find ourselves being distracted, is some kind of pride issue. Fortunately, the solution is simple. Say, “Lord, I choose to humble myself and pray.” God’s promises are sure. He hears from heaven, forgives, and sends help and healing. Lord, help us pray!

Some Results of Praying

  1. People get “born again” because we have travailed for them (Gal. 4:19).

  2. People weak in faith get “resurrected” (Acts 9:40).

  3. People get connected to ones who will bring them the gospel (Cornelius, Acts 10:2).

  4. The Holy Spirit gives us revelation for new fields (Peter, Acts 10:9).

  5. People can get set free from any kind of prison, especially prisons of despair, sickness, and poverty (Peter, Acts 12:5).

  6. Prayer puts us in position for strategic miracles and power encounters. Both Peter and John’s healing of the lame man (Acts 3:1) and Paul’s deliverance of the slave girl (Acts 16:16) occurred because they were on their way to prayer.

  7. Angels will be there to minister to you, similar to Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane (Luke 22:43).

Those are just some of the results. Let’s be bold in the Lord and pray and see much, much fruit.

Thanks for praying,

Ron and Teddy

Fire Conference III (Online)

God’s Fire and the Coming Harvest

Saturday, July 31st, 8:00 - 10:00 p.m.

*Many important words were released during our July 18 webcast regarding this Saturday’s Fire Conference. Here are a few of those prophetic words:

  1. Don’t assume you know what to expect. God wants to do something completely different.

  2. God wants us to seek His new fire. In order to receive it, we have to step out from the ashes of the previous.

  3. His fire will take us into His holiness.

  4. God is spreading His fire to all nations, and it will be unstoppable.

  5. God’s fire is being released to burn away the occult blanket that blinds the eyes of people in the nations.

  6. Many who have been “frozen” will be unthawed and will burn with zeal for the Lord.

  7. It will be like a tidal wave of “lions” for the Lord.

  8. The fire will connect with God’s apostolic and prophetic movements for great harvest.

Seeing the Breakthrough and Increase

Elul—The Sixth Month of the Hebrew Year (Aug. 9–Sept. 6, 2021)

The fifth month, Av (July 10–Aug. 8), was about the Lord roaring from Zion and releasing His judgments and decisions that bring breakthrough and justice. Jeremiah 15:30 states, “Like a lion about to attack, the Lord will roar from the heights of heaven; from his holy dwelling on high he will roar loudly.” It required our entering into that roar by faith. Av was also about listening carefully and paying attention to what He says. Now we come to the sixth month, Elul, which is all about breakthrough, victory, and increase. That continuous attitude of “roaring by faith” and listening carefully links us to the breakthrough He has for us.

The blessings for the month of Elul may be found here.
