“Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us” (Neh. 4:20).
“Make two silver trumpets for yourself; you shall make them of hammered work; you shall use them for calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps” (Num. 10:2).
When the Shofar Sounds, God Is Already Advancing!
Last week I wrote about how the Lord has led us to intensify use of the shofar, and that the main reason was to wake up to the goodness of God. This was not just for us believers to realize more of His goodness—but also for sleeping Christians, for unbelievers, for cities, and for nations. We were to blow the shofar believing for an awakening.
So we have continued blowing the shofar. And over the past few weeks, I’ve had the feeling that “awakenings” were about to happen—that believers would experience more of His goodness, that sleeping Christians would come alive in the Lord, and that non-believers would begin to become aware of Him.
But actually, the sound of the shofar isn’t only about causing people to wake up or rise up. Another reason God calls for the shofar/trumpet is to signal a gathering together and then to advance. Numbers 10:2 states, “You shall use them for calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps.” In other words, once the people are awakened and gathered, the Lord begins to lead them to advance.
We know the Lord led the children of Israel in the wilderness by the pillar of cloud/fire. When it moved, the people moved. The blowing of the shofar was to alert/awaken all the people that now was the time to move ahead.
God has been having us blow the shofar to alert us to get ready to advance. He wants to advance in our lives. He wants to advance in the nations.
A few days ago, Sarah Wu, a sister from Taiwan long connected to our ministry, was flying over Canada to visit some relatives. God gave her the following amazing prophecy and then led her to paint the picture below. I share this because I feel the prophecy and picture are in response to our blowing of the shofar.
She prophesied the following:
“The Lord said, ‘Canada, you are My delight, the love of My heart, and I made you so beautiful! I will once again pour My unquenchable fire of love on you, and you will be restored to your beauty by My ardent love again! At this moment, I will not only send down My fire, but I will also give the anointing oil. You will be purified by the fire of My anointing oil from the inside out, and the world will see My glory and beauty on you! Canada, you will be stirred up again by My fire, becoming the golden leaf of healing. In the name of the Lord, bless Canada with a great awakening and revival like never before. Shine brightly for the Lord. Amen!’”
I began to share this, and the response from Canadians and many others was swift and powerful. Here is what Tomoko Nakatsu, a Japanese pastoring in Edmonton and originally from our church in Sano, shared:
“When I flew back to Canada (three weeks ago), at the time of landing I felt this is the land of healing and restoration. I was overwhelmed by God’s love—how much He loves the nation of Canada and His people. I felt God is pouring out an anointing oil of healing over this nation.”
I am so blessed by these prophetic words. And please, do not take this lightly. God is not just encouraging us about Canada—it’s much more than that. He Himself is also awakening the US, as well as leading us to advance. We must remember that every time Moses signaled “advance,” God was already moving. The pillar of cloud/fire had already begun to move.
God has begun to move over Canada. We will see Him moving over other nations as well.

Testimonies about Using Anointing Oil—Last week I also wrote about anointing oil and how we should view it as a sudden, immediate attacking of the sickness or the demonic as soon as we apply it. I have been encouraging people on our various webcasts and meetings to use anointing oil as much as possible. Joyce in Taiwan shared how she was led to take the oil and anoint a neighbor (a non-believer) who had been suffering from mental/emotional anguish for years. Joyce shared that as soon as she anointed him, he came to great peace! Last week, many shared testimonies of healing and other remarkable results. So I continue to encourage you—use oil and anoint people when praying for healing. Watch and see what the Lord does!
Hebrew Month of Cheshvan and Anointing
Remember that in this month of Cheshvan (Oct. 26–Nov. 24), one of the themes is about the anointing. God anoints us so we can help others. But another reason He anoints us is so that we can be healed/delivered of things that hold us back. Isaiah 10:27 states, “The yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.”
