Compassion—A Signal from the Holy Spirit
This week during our Online Apostolic Center meeting (APC-MPP), the Lord talked to us about compassion. Compassion is one of His qualities. Psalm 86:15 states, “But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth” (emphasis added). It’s because of His compassion that He reaches out to us and helps us. Jesus showed this same compassion. In Matthew 14:14, we read, “And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick” (emphasis added).
Because we have Jesus living in us, and because we are being daily changed into His image, we should also expect to have this compassion. However, we should also note this can supersede and be much stronger than human compassion. Many of us have come to see that when we are “moved with compassion,” it actually is a sign of the Holy Spirit moving inside of us preparing us to go ahead and boldly minister the healing.
One characteristic of an Apostolic Center is believers expecting the Lord to use them to help others, and this is why I believe He reminded us about compassion this week. When you sense compassion rising up in you about something, don’t ignore it or shrug it off. Know the Holy Spirit is signaling you and alerting you that He wants to move. If you proceed, you will find yourself with faith to believe for and minster the healing or whatever else He may want to accomplish through you.
So pay attention to compassion, and please share with us what the Lord will have done through you this week. Let it be a “firstfruits” after Passover/Resurrection Sunday of our risen Lord’s miracle-working power in your own life. Expect it this week.
Firstfruits Offering—Moving into Our Promised Inheritance
This week, I read again about first fruits offering. The Bible clearly states a first fruits offering is a signal or sign that we indeed have inherited the land He promised, and we have received at least a beginning of harvest—and that much, much more will come. Deuteronomy 26:2–3 states, “That you shall take some of the first of all the produce of the ground, which you shall bring from your land that the Lord your God is giving you, and put it in a basket and go to the place where the Lord your God chooses to make His name abide. And you shall go to the one who is priest in those days, and say to him, ‘I declare today to the Lord your God that I have come to the country which the Lord swore to our fathers to give us.’”
Verses 9–10 go on to say, “He has brought us to this place and has given us this land, ‘a land flowing with milk and honey’; and now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which you, O Lord, have given me.”
I decided, “Yes, I must now, this week, give a first fruits offering. I am declaring, ‘Yes, Lord, even this year You have brought me to a new level of life and ministry. Something new and powerful is just beginning. This first fruits offering acknowledges that. I know there is much, much more to come.’”
I feel many of you sense you are at a new level—that there is a whole new field in front of you. Be led by the Holy Spirit and give to where He leads you. Your offering and declaration will solidify and establish what the Lord is giving you.
Thanks for your praying,
Ron and Teddy
Prayer Corner-Things for all of us to pray for
Keep praying this most important of all prayers—ask the Lord of the Harvest to raise laborers for His harvest (see Matt. 9:36–37).
Keep on praising/worshiping the Lord personally/privately each day. Praise and worship puts our eyes on Him and takes them off of ourselves and our weaknesses and failures. (See 1 Chron. 25; 2 Chron. 29; Eph. 5:18–19, Acts 15:16.)
Press into miracles and signs and wonders. Remember to declare and sing that the Lord has anointed you (see Isa. 61:1–2).
Stay Alert to Receive What God Wants to Give You!
Iyar—The Second Month of the Hebrew Year 5784

We all love the adage about the tribe of Issachar “who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do” (1 Chron. 12:32). The previous month, Nissan, was about new beginnings and firstfruits. Jesus rose from the dead. As “firstfruits,” we know that we who believe in Him will one day rise too. Not only are we raised to new life in Him, but He also continually gives us new beginnings by taking us to new levels in our walk with Him.
Personally this year, I believe He is already taking me and Teddy to a new level. I don’t want to miss or overlook anything He wants to give. I don’t want to default on anything. There are two keys. First is what Eddy, my administrator, shared. We need to have a posture/attitude of receiving. We can’t be like an upside-down glass. Even if you pour lots of water, nothing will go inside, because the glass is upside down. Second, Luke 12:35 exhorts us to “stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning.” The only way we can stay alert is by being “in the Spirit”—having His fire always burning in us. By the grace of God, we can move into all that the Lord longs to give us.
