“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord” (Luke 4:18–19 [quoting Isaiah 61]).
Moving into Miracles
We will soon be in the month of Nissan, which is sometimes referred to as the “beginning of miracles.” God is a God of miracles. He does miracles for us. He also wants to do miracles through us to help others. He did many miracles through Jesus. In John 17:4, Jesus prays and says, essentially, “Father, I have done—I have completed the works that you have given me to do.” We also, as children of God through Jesus, have works prepared by God from before the foundation of the world, assigned and waiting for us to do (see Ephesians 2:10). Of course some of these good works are acts of kindness and service. But many of them are miracles or mighty works.
Jesus did many mighty works, and the purpose was so that people’s eyes would become open to the love of God—to repent and start walking with Him (see Matthew 11:20–23). We know the early apostles and the believers of the early church moved in miracles with the same effect. For example in Acts 3, Peter and John’s healing of the lame man at the temple gate resulted in several thousand being saved.
We all believe God wants to do the same today. He wants miracles to be as common now as they were for the early church. The only difference is there should now be many, many more miracles because the population is far greater than it was back then.
Thus, the question many of us may have is: “Just how do I begin to move in miracles?” Is there anything I can do to help activate this is my life? I believe there is. Speak out or declare God’s anointing is on you. Jesus did this at the beginning of His ministry, and He did it deliberately in the most difficult place—His own home town of Nazareth.
In Luke 4, we read that Jesus came out of the wilderness (after forty days of fasting) in the power of the Holy Spirit (4:14). After ministering in several places (4:15), He came to His hometown of Nazareth, attended the synagogue, and read the prophecy of Isaiah 61: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord” (Luke 4:18–19).
Every eye was on Him as He sat, and then stated, essentially, “This prophecy of Isaiah’s about being anointed by God to heal and set the captives free is now being fulfilled” (4:20–21, paraphrased) He declared it clearly: “God has anointed Me. I am fulfilling it. The time is now” (“This is the year of God’s favor” [4:19, paraphrased]). It was not a matter of letting the miracles or mighty works speak for themselves. It was a matter of obediently declaring He was in God’s timing and was fulfilling prophecy.
I feel we need to do the same thing. I feel that daily we need to either declare or sing the following things:
1. We are anointed with the Holy Spirit.
2. A main purpose of that anointing is for miracles and mighty works of God.
3. We are in God’s timing, and now is the time.
Don’t worry about what may or may not happen. Neither should you wait until you have some “bona fide miracles” you can share as testimony. No, you must simply declare that you are anointed because it is God who says so. Because you believe it, you declare it. You must own it.
It’s the anointing of the Lord that will do the miracles. But we must own it. We must say it is ours. I feel all through the month of Nissan, the month of miracles, we should declare/sing this truth daily.
The more our heart (which already agrees with God) hears our mouth saying these truths, the larger will be its capacity for faith. The angels will hear it and rejoice. God will certainly rejoice.
So for the next few weeks, let’s speak—or sing—the declaration several times daily that God wants to do miracles through me and the time is now.
Thanks for your praying,
Ron and Teddy
I want to continue to remind you of my book about prophetic praise, Judah Goes First. It’s available online in English. Hard copies are also available in Chinese, Korean, Russian, and English.
My most recent book, How to Activate to Prophecy and Revelation Gifts, also has significant updates on prophetic praise, as well as the song of the Lord.
Prayer Corner-Things for all of us to pray for
Please pray for my (and my son Pete’s) upcoming overseas ministry trip. Because of our covenant at Online APC-MPP, I am being sent by you. Some of you will be led to pray regularly; others on occasion. But however you are led, because of covenant you are carrying me (as well as each other). It’s much like Aaron the high priest who continually carried each of the tribes of Israel (written on the stones on his shoulders or on the twelve stones on his breastplate). For those of you who will be led to pray, please ask for the following: 1) impact and fruitfulness; 2) safety and ease of travel; 3) to accomplish all God intends for us to accomplish.
Keep pressing into singing prophetically to the Lord each day. Singing the song of the Lord appeared under David (see 1 Chronicles 25), and again under King Hezekiah (see 2 Chronicles 29). This establishing of praise resulted in huge expansion for each of them. God wants to expand you, so pursue singing the song of the Lord daily.
A New Beginning—The Lord Is Using Us to Do Miracles!
Nissan—The First Hebrew Month of 5785; March 30–April 28, 2025
I love this month, Nissan, because it’s the first month of the Hebrew year and is the beginning of the redemption cycle. Nissan contains Passover (Nissan 14/April 12), the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Nissan 15–22/April 13–20), and the Feast of Firstfruits (Nissan 16–17/April 14–15).
Every Nissan is a time of leaving the old and crossing over into a life of walking with the Lord—just like how the Israelites were set free from the old (Egypt), and were released into a new life walking with the Lord. I believe this year more than ever is about miracles. God wants us to choose to walk expecting Him to do miracles through us. In other words, He wants us to be miracle workers. It may not be easy, but He will help us press ahead. We know the Israelites saw many miracles, but never learned from them. They somehow stayed in complaining and unbelief. May it never be that way for us!
Yes, we too will encounter trials when we will want to slip into the old default of complaining or negativity. We must remember Nissan is also the month of the tribe of Judah, which means “praise.” Recently, the Lord has been showing us to sing prophetically to Him daily. I feel that as we sing the “song of the Lord,” new things—and new power—will begin to be released to us.
