“So Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. When Jacob saw them, he said, ‘This is God’s camp.’ And he called the name of that place Mahanaim” (Gen. 32:1–2).
“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” (Heb. 1:14).
Our Prayers—Angels—Harvest
Shifting into God’s Timing
We have shifted into God’s timing. By this, I mean His agenda always comes first. I don’t have to try to make things happen because He—not I—is the “driver.” He will arrange and lead me so that His agenda gets carried out. And because I have humbled myself to follow His leadings, I will also reap the benefits as He is the “driver” for my necessary tasks. These tasks will also get done better and more easily (less fuss/no striving) than before. But I must always be conscious of any items on His agenda that He wants me to do and do them as led.
Angels and a World Prayer Strategy
One of God’s items is prayer for His harvest. Recently, Apostle Karen Dey of New Zealand, who has a powerful ministry in Sri Lanka, had a notable prophetic vision. She saw hosts of angels—some were worshiping and some blowing trumpets; others were warring angels. Then she was impressed by the Lord to ask people to get a world map and to pray each day for a different nation. From this year’s Passover until next year’s Passover—365 days of praying for the nations!
This is a powerful and important strategy, and I ask you to consider joining in. What is intriguing to me is the vision about God’s releasing so many angels. Since angels are assigned to help all who are already believers or those who may become believers (see Hebrews 1:14), then obviously this release of angels means God knows many, many, many people are ready and waiting to meet Him. He wants to help them, so He is sending angels.
But He does need us to pray. And, the more we pray, the more intensely those angels will be activated. I am reminded of Jacob returning to the Promised Land in Genesis 32. God made sure a band of angels was there waiting to help him. Thus, Jacob named that place, “God’s camp.” We don’t know what the angels did, but look at what happened to Jacob. The following things occurred in a brief period: 1) he became aware he was in great danger; 2) he got wisdom and strategy of how to meet his brother; 3) he clearly knew that He needed an encounter with God.
What an incredible picture of what may/will happen when we pray for the nations, or even our cities. Angels will be sent to help us. Jacob was being led to return to his destiny (the Promised Land), and angels were sent to help him. Likewise as we enter into what God is calling us to do, angels will be sent to help us.
Therefore…
Turning Dark Places into Camps of God
Again, consider Jacob’s first reaction when he realized God had sent angels to meet him. He called the place “This is God’s camp.” That otherwise nondescript spot in the wilderness was now a place where God was. He wasn’t just “passing through.” God was encamped there because He had things He wanted to accomplish.
What about your city? What about nations that you will pray for? No, they will no longer be dark, wasted places. Through our prayers, angels will be encamped and activated. God will be there because He has things to be accomplished. Wonderful things will happen. Harvest will come in.
So please consider joining in. I suggest you do two things:
Thanks for praying.
