“Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened to me by the Lord” (2 Cor. 2:12).
“For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries” (1 Cor. 16:9).
“Meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ” (Col. 4:3).
“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you” (2 Thess. 3:1).
Good to Be Back Home; Looking for More Intercessors
It’s so nice to be back in Japan after a 22-day trip to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and then back to Taiwan. It was a great trip and an opening of many new doors—something the Lord began to do for us after our Catch the Fire Conference in Bali last September.
Here are some scriptures pertaining to new doors:
“Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened to me by the Lord” (2 Cor. 2:12).
I flew to Taiwan on January 21, the start of the Chinese New Year—a weeklong holiday that can last up to ten days. Most businesses shut down and families go back home. Yet, I was invited to not only speak at a conference, but also at several churches—most of which were completely new to me. It’s pretty amazing when hunger for God and what He’s doing overrides tradition.
“For a great and effective door has opened to me” (1 Cor. 16:9).
I believe the doors are effective, and I want them to be ever more so. Everywhere I go, I meet pastors and churches who are hungry for the new things of God. They want to receive apostolic and prophetic anointing for breakthrough and for far more effective ministry. They also seem to understand we have already entered into a great harvest and that the harvesters are primarily to be “ordinary” Christians.
I also want to ask you to pray concerning that word effective. We’re in a brand-new era, and we must keep adjusting and adapting and not be doing things in the old way. If we will follow Him, we can be assured He will make us fruitful and effective. This is why your prayers are so important. We need your prayers to be increasingly effective.
“And there are many adversaries” (1 Cor. 16:9).
This is another main reason why we need prayer. Without prayer and intercession, the doors that need to open may not do so. Satan stands against. For example, we’re planning to go to Pakistan from February 28–March 5, but my son Pete still hasn’t received his visa. This morning, I felt led to do the prophetic act of raising my hands—like Moses raised his rod over the Red Sea—and commanding the door to Pakistan to fully open. I am thankful that I can appeal to many of you to pray.
Continual prayer covering—Pray also for safety and protection. I am reminded of a few years ago when the Lord showed me about the spirit of witchcraft and how to break it. That was when my luggage began to get lost while traveling. I never had a problem until then. But once we began praying specifically for our luggage, those luggage problems ended.
I also have to say this—as great as this past trip was, it wasn’t without difficulties, harassments, and hindrances from the enemy. I even got worn down a bit and sick. We need continual prayer covering.
“Meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ” (Col. 4:3).
This verse has more to do with the “mystery of Christ” spreading quickly. This requires us to use the Lord’s authority to rule in the spiritual atmosphere. It’s one thing to be in a new place with new people, but quite another for the message to easily take root. It’s why we need intercessors.
Paul said it best…
“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you” (2 Thess. 3:1).
When we go into a meeting place, we invariably lay hands on the door posts and ask the “King of Glory, the Lord strong and mighty … in battle” (Ps. 24:8) to enter. We also use the spiritual authority He has given to rule over hindering spirits and spirits of opposition. We use prophetic praise as a weapon of war. We often do prophetic acts. All of them are powerful and helpful.
However, as Paul said, “Finally, brethren, pray for us” (2 Thess. 3:1). It’s this prayer covering that causes the message to run and spread quickly. All of the above-mentioned strategies are important, but most important of all is prayer and prayer covering. We need your prayers more than ever.
A call for more intercession—That really is the most important thing of all. Thank you all for praying, and please keep on.
Thanks for praying,
Ron and Teddy
